The First Tee

I sped home - literally - after landing in Tulsa to get to Ozark before Ryan's PE class was over. I decided to document a few of our surroundings since they will soon be changing.

This is the fastest speed limit I think I have ever seen - courtesy of the Cherokee Turnpike in OK about 15 minutes from our house.

The lovely Cherokee casino, right across the border into OK where gambling is legal on Indian land. This place gives our ER quite a bit of business.

The main stoplight where we do most of our business: Walmart and Lowes on the left - bank and mechanic on the right.

Driving up 59 to Gentry from Siloam. Very flat, but nice to see all of baby calves with their mommas this time of year.

I wanted to get to Ryan's PE class because the First Tee was there teaching them how to play golf. This organization came for two days and worked with Ryan's class - how nice!

Its not over until everybody finds all the balls.

Weekend: Young Alumni vs. Skyhawks & SA Activity

Here are some pictures from the rest of our weekend:

Toby always loves it when we accumulate clean laundry too fast to fold it

Mr. Clean watches as a young alumnus shoots a free throw - he reffed these alumni's games when they were Ladyhawks

I've never understood the male butt slap...

On Sunday the SA post-Valentines activity was to go to a fun zone place with GoKarts, Laser Tag, Bowling, Arcade, etc. then to Golden Corral for supper. Since Ryan is an SA sponsor we got to go. It was great fun seeing the general wide eyed look of "OH NO! 100 people are coming in here?!?" wherever we went.

Matthew and Ryan hit the track after skipping ahead when certain kids didn't want to split up their groups to pack the track.

Lynsey and I had an hour wait...

Trying to fight off Mr. Strack the computer teacher!
These cars are electric - nice and quiet - but the controlling guys can make you stop or slow down with the push of a remote.

We had to come back for bowling after eating because the wait was too long.

A much superior bowling alley to the one in Siloam which barely has any wax on the lanes.

And I had to throw this one in - have you ever seen a strawberry like this? I ate it - now the long wait to see if I get cancer... Maybe this is what happens when you try to grow strawberries out of season.

Gentry Elementary School gymanstics show

SWAT (SWAU's gym team) came up to do a clinic with our Arielaires followed by a show at the local public elementary school.

Bet the kids went home talking about this one - some of them got to learn a few things. Here they are doing two highs.

Pyramid standing on the backs of the gym team

Ryan came up with this anti-drug skit which I thought was pretty creative. Here there are 4 "speed skaters" skating to the olympic music.

Two choose to do drugs and end up with "burdens" on their backs - now skating to Flight of the Bumble Bee.

The two who did drugs fall and lose while the other two win - now skating to the Chariots of Fire Theme. Pretty creative!

Hoopfest

Last weekend Ozark hosted a Hoopfest tournament for JV/gradeschool teams from around the area. Games began on Friday afternoon...

Our OAA freshmen played on a team - here Jose drives it down to the basket.

Gotta love the Burleson Bobcats socks

Ozark Adventist School vs. Tulsa Adventist Academy

OAS wins - and the lower grade kids celebrate

Sunday games at John Brown University with 3 courts.
Much nicer lighting and an elevated walking track to watch the games.

Friday night afterglow

Just in case you were wondering - you can make 3 words by using all of the letters in Merry Christmas: Trim, Rhyme, & Scars

Brittany playing with Toby

Somehow the kid in the blue got to our house without being a member of the gym or basketball teams...
