Evening

A walk around campus

View from the dining room window/coming down the outside entrance stairs going to the Ad building.

View from the kitchen window and straight off the end of the dorm looking toward the girls dorm and music/cafe building

Had to peek in a door but this is the science lab (for Randy)

 The adjacent science classroom

Computer lab (for you MJ) - this room had window air conditioning running!

Mr. Swanson, or Swanee as he is known, has taught history at Maplewood for 47 years. Some kids painted his room for him. He has had a husky his whole time at Maplewood and at some point they made the school mascot a husky because of it.

Teacher's office/student worker workroom set up off of the classroom
Do you see what I see? Sometimes the Husky gets to come to class.

 Downstairs hallway

 Ryan's Bible classroom

Main office - just like MPA when you come in

 Principal's office

Ad building lobby with office to the left then classrooms, chapel on the right

Fountain and pond area next to the Ad building

Music building on the left - home ec on the right - cafe downstairs. This is the oldest building on campus and it sits in front of the girls dorm.

 We guessed band room
We guessed choir room

If you missed the other views of Maplewood from the previous blog:

Mom and Dad to the Rescue

Mom and Dad came to help us get settled in and were a big help!

In between struggling to put nails/screws in walls and make things fit we took some time off to play with the Wii, see the town of Hutchinson, and enjoy Minneapolis.

 Learning to do archery

Can you tell who these people are?

Toby loves taking naps with people

Downtown Minneapolis

 Target Field

Our seats were quite sunny & hot

Toby's Boys Dorm Tour

This is the boys dorm lobby. Mom and Dad say it sure looks a lot more like home with lots of pictures on the walls and the lamps they bought. I did a lot supervising while Mom, Dad, and the grandparents moved stuff around in here. I kept wanting to just sleep on the couches but they moved them out from under me!

Some Old English made these end tables look a lot better!

I like looking out the big windows on the front of the dorm for squirrels!

Everybody is raving about how neat those paintings are with the verse shown behind me in this picture. I think squirrels are way more interesting. (Mom says I should point out to Mary Jane that this is your old bookcase from Kingway - its making the academy rounds!)

Mom says this is the RA's room for 1st floor - she says I will be his friend - whoever an RA is...

 Very nice mattress...

Funny smells in these things called closets...
That's all! Dad says his office is not ready to show yet so that will have to come later. There is a really comfy couch in there!

Moving to Maplewood

Loading the main truck in the front yard

Loading up truck #2 in the back to ~10 ft in so we could load in the Suzuki

 The fearless driver!

We stopped at Highland the first night. Claire is telling Ryan what she thinks of us moving to Minnesota.

 Love this little girl!

 What a great little traveler!

 Northern Illinois

Spent night #2 at Arrowhead Lodge, Best Western, Black River Falls, WI

Coming into Minnesota in the midst of storms

 New carpet, flooring and paint.

Our life in 2 Penskes minus one car and one small dog

Stephanie and I were very proud of our mirror/picture box concoction
