Sabbath Morning (or why we don't get to Sabbath School very often)

Titus lives across the cow pasture and often comes to visit in the morning - especially on Sabbath. Toby and Titus have a bit of a love-hate relationship. They like to have contests to see whose pee is the last marking trees, blades of grass, rocks... and everything else...

Not the best picture but still funny - Titus is giving Toby a hug.

Titus' owner told me he's a yorkie but he's a little big and different looking... hmm...

Toby likes to play with Ryan

"This is fun Mom!"

Momentary retreat under the table

I just love the curly hair on Toby's short stocky legs

Sweet face and cute feet in this one

Toby the lion

Toby is bored

But not for long because Ryan is back

The hand is about to come alive...

And so is Toby... (here is the evidence of one of Ryan's torture techniques)

"I'm not sure if I am safe right now"

Ryan peeking out from above the recliner at Toby

"Its been a long day already and its only 10 AM!"
(I'd clean my windows but Toby's nose would just smudge them again.)

Weekend: Young Alumni vs. Skyhawks & SA Activity

Here are some pictures from the rest of our weekend:

Toby always loves it when we accumulate clean laundry too fast to fold it

Mr. Clean watches as a young alumnus shoots a free throw - he reffed these alumni's games when they were Ladyhawks

I've never understood the male butt slap...

On Sunday the SA post-Valentines activity was to go to a fun zone place with GoKarts, Laser Tag, Bowling, Arcade, etc. then to Golden Corral for supper. Since Ryan is an SA sponsor we got to go. It was great fun seeing the general wide eyed look of "OH NO! 100 people are coming in here?!?" wherever we went.

Matthew and Ryan hit the track after skipping ahead when certain kids didn't want to split up their groups to pack the track.

Lynsey and I had an hour wait...

Trying to fight off Mr. Strack the computer teacher!
These cars are electric - nice and quiet - but the controlling guys can make you stop or slow down with the push of a remote.

We had to come back for bowling after eating because the wait was too long.

A much superior bowling alley to the one in Siloam which barely has any wax on the lanes.

And I had to throw this one in - have you ever seen a strawberry like this? I ate it - now the long wait to see if I get cancer... Maybe this is what happens when you try to grow strawberries out of season.

Inspired

This is where I work - the Siloam Springs Emergency Room - and NO, this is not what inspired me... I just figured since I had a test picture still on my camera from Friday I'd share it with you. This is inside the nurses station looking out toward Rooms 1-6. 1 is to the right across from the doorway marked 2 & 3, then 4 & 5 to the left of the white board then 6 farther left with triage and admissions even farther left. To the right of that door way with 2 & 3 is the electric door leading out to the ambulance bay. Break room is behind me. Fast track with 6 additional beds is down the hallway to the right.

Last Friday we got a few hours of reprieve so I could teach one of my coworkers how to use her new Nikon SLR. She also showed me The Pioneer Woman's website with all of its wonderful pictures, discussion, and tutorials. All of this photography talk got me inspired to pick up my new portrait lens and have a go on Sabbath afternoon...

This is for Valeri - Ryan made your cottage cheese loaf for lunch.

Must include a few musical instruments...

But the real fun/frustration was photographing the dogs who were running around. Waldo recently got a haircut and looks like a totally different dog, don't you think? His parents were visiting Matthew's grandfather in the hospital so he came to stay with us for awhile.

When they are playing its hard to get a clear shot of them. I like Wally's legs all splayed out in this one.

If my computer had enough memory to run my new Adobe Photoshop - I'd edit Ryan's foot out of the background, grrrr.... Guess as Dad would say I have created a need for myself.

This picture tells this story:
Wally: "I'm speaking, don't you hear me? Hey! Are you deaf!" Toby: "Why is he barking, I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. Dad, what is going on?"

These are my favorites.
A church member brings horses to the academy for the kids to ride on Sabbath afternoons sometimes.

Ryan got a great shot of Waldo, eh?

Wally and Toby are the best of friends. Wally is the first dog that Toby is not really jealous of and we're hoping he stays around for a long time (along with his owners). Toby just accepts him. Its great fun having Wally to come visit.

Gentry Elementary School gymanstics show

SWAT (SWAU's gym team) came up to do a clinic with our Arielaires followed by a show at the local public elementary school.

Bet the kids went home talking about this one - some of them got to learn a few things. Here they are doing two highs.

Pyramid standing on the backs of the gym team

Ryan came up with this anti-drug skit which I thought was pretty creative. Here there are 4 "speed skaters" skating to the olympic music.

Two choose to do drugs and end up with "burdens" on their backs - now skating to Flight of the Bumble Bee.

The two who did drugs fall and lose while the other two win - now skating to the Chariots of Fire Theme. Pretty creative!

A few pictures from Ozark's routine

Last Snowfall?

We've had so much snow/ice this year I wouldn't be surprised if we got some more - but - these are some pictures from a few weeks ago of the frozen watery stuff that most recently covered our world.

Superbowl Treats

The only pictures we have from Superbowl fun

Wally is like Toby's long lost brother!
