The Great East Trip: 4th of July where A means ALABAMA!

Robin and Oppie with Blue and Jake

The annual 4th of July parade features different pontoons and other boats decorated - this one was my favorite - The Stimulus Package.

When the people get in the water to play the dogs take over...

Kelli & Jonathan came to visit!

Ryan did a dive through the inner tube and about lost his shorts

The only thing they caught was Jonathan's flip flop and a big piece of tape

There's nothing like good girlfriends!

The Great East Trip: Heritage Golf Course

Right after this picture Stanley took a tumble driving to grab a ball in a driveby pickup.

The Great East Trip: Ryan's 26th Birthday

We arrived at the lakehouse on Ryan's birthday - June 1! After a nap we hit the lake.

Our little nervous dog LOVED the jet ski? Who would have thought? Actually getting in the water was another story all together...

Ryan is about to get clawed.

Jake couldn't understand why Toby was so scared of the water. He can climb up the ladder onto the dock.

Toby is trying to climb to the highest ground possible.

Happy Birthday to Ryan

It was Jake's 1st birthday!

The Great East Trip: Family Time

Even though it seems like we couldn't possibly have more to sort through after the past few moves - Mom and I pulled out some old piano books. It was great to remember the little pieces I learned back in Canada and South Carolina days. We even learned a few new duets as well as playing our old Sound of Music duet book favorites.
We did so many fun things while at home including watching Up in 3D (what a great movie!), going to IKEA, table games, great food, and riding go karts and playing laser tag at Concord Mills Mall. We even took Mom and Dad to a driving range.

Mom had been once before in her teens but both of them hit the ball pretty well on their first tries!

Dad's second shot

Toby really enjoyed having a big back yard to run free in. His fetching skills greatly improved. Isn't this just the cutest little face you've ever seen?

Toby remembered Stephanie from her visit - it was great to have her home for 2 days!

Ryan and Dad figuring out our new bike rack - Ryan's birthday present from his parents along with a bike - so we could be ready to depart for Alabama in the morning.

The Great East Trip: The Gathering

On Sabbath the Knights came for lunch along with Courtney Herod - their summer house guest. We missed having Ross and Stephanie at home too but they were both at Nosoca.
It was great for Ryan and I to have everybody all together. Even the dogs got to play in the backyard together. Their first meeting hadn't gone so well in the confines of Jake's house but they became good buddies on neutral ground.

Toby was so mesmerized by Jake that he let Jake do all the fetching which made Jake quite hot. He enjoyed slurping the water out of the bird bath Dad filled over and over for him.

We could even enjoy the front porch with the help of ice water and the ceiling fans.
