Charlotte Wedding shower

My first wedding present from the ladies at Carolinas Outpatient Diabetes Center where Ryan's mother works. This dish set from Pfaltzgraff was on my front porch Friday morning! Aren't they beautiful!

Ryan's mother and some Charlotte church ladies put on a shower for me this Sunday.

Sisters

The food was done very beautifully, including the cake!

We were given so many nice things I can't even remember them all but here are a few of them for you to see:

Beautiful serving dish with smaller dish for the center that will match my dishes!

Beware: you will see this again. Thanks to the mothers...

The groom showed up and got to pop the packing

Itty bitty spoon, knife, and fork with beading decorations that a lady made to match my dishes (as well as a serving spoon and fork!)

Kelli, Carrie, and I all have this pitcher on our registries!

Heaviest present from the Mom, aunt, cousin, sister, and gramma-in-laws!

And then they read me a list of all the things I had said at the shower as though they were what I would say on my wedding night... We were laughing til we cried.

They all wrote on an apron for me

See, I told you... I daresay it might show up a 3rd time too...

Voted best wrapping

And many thanks to the photographer: Stephanie, the Maid of Honor!

God still moves trees

Yesterday Ryan and I packed my car full of stuff to come home, said a prayer for safety, pulled out of my driveway, and turned to the right. Little did we know our prayer would be answered almost immediately. All of a sudden we heard, CRACK CRACK CRACK! and Ryan said "Jaclyn, STOP!" so I hit my brakes and a gigantic tree from my front yard fell down right in front of my car. If we had been a few feet farther down the road the top of it would have come down on us. Or if the wind had blown it the other direction it would have been completely on top of my house. Needless to say, I was a little shaken up and very thankful that my guardian angel did some weight training today.

Ryan's on the phone with the power company - the tree knocked out power for a good portion of Collegedale

My front yard, see how close this thing was to my HOUSE!

It was rotten at the core...

We got stopped right before that green mailbox. My house is behind Ryan standing on the hill.

Happy Birthday to Jonathan

Jonathan's birthday is on Monday so we had a birthday supper tonight made by Kelli's mom who is visiting from Colorado.

Kelli made Jonathan a note puzzle with one word of the note inside 20+ balloons. This is his face when he realized he had to pop all of them...

How many ways can you pop a balloon?

The Promise of Morning

Yesterday afternoon Nathan Kennemore, age 6, fell out of a tree and was killed. Carrie, Stephanie, Grant, Ross, and I worked with his mother, Deborah, at the snack bar at Carolina campmeeting and I remember him running around or sitting in the stroller in the kitchen. Their family is very special to our conference.

The promise of the SonRise pageant and Easter weekend is even more special to me today. I just can't wait until we'll get to rise up in the clouds with Jesus and get away from this filthy, sickening world. Please keep their family in your prayers.

Games and SonRise scenes

Playing Settlers last Saturday night

Kelli monopolizes ore

Ryan tries to catch Jonathan in Challengers Dice

How many people that you know can you spot in the SonRise masses?

Ok, you might not know this one but it's Ryan's Uncle Eddy and Chelsea, Luke is somewhere...

I don't really know him, but Brandon was Jesus (Tara and Erik worked with him in NZ)

Alex being obnoxious while Jesus is led to the cross

Anybody know these guys? They wore this heavy armor for almost 12 hours and fell on the ground when the angel came to the resurrection scene over and over in it...
